Covid: Firms urge PM for clarity on restrictions over Christmas

  1. Johnson is a lame duck PM, further restrictions are subject to parliamentary approval and he doesn’t want to be humiliated by his swivel eyed backbenchers again. Parliament rises for the recess on Thursday and he’s banking on the festivities to buy him more time and distract voters, we are very dumb and he has exploited that many times before. Parliament doesn’t come back till 5th of January after schools have returned and after the parties have finished. The messages coming out yesterday was of personal choice and responsibility, very Tory. Maybe if he gifts his backbenchers the financially important Xmas period they might go easier on him with restrictions in the new year. Schools will remain open with tighter PPE but an official national lockdown will not happen, local ones can be but blamed on local authorities, another classic Tory ploy.

  2. We’re locking down unless we’re not. People should do things or not do things depending on what we decide. Which we haven’t don’t yet. Plan accordingly. But don’t rely on us not to change plans.

How much clearer can he be?
