I would return the plates so clean they wouldn’t need to wash them.
Date and time to come?
I’m silent and just eat.
Great now I’m hungry
Now I want to go to Istanbul! Can you name some of these dishes?
I see the classic Turkish tea, what a unique gem.
Hey OP, i’ve been to turkey 3 times, i love your food culture!
Can you maybe share a traditional recipe for lahmacun with me?
Also at many restaurants for “starters” there is served some flatbread with a fresh minty dipping sauce and some small pickled chilis, what are the names of those?
1- *Pide* – Flat bread (The word *pide* is the origin of the word *pizza*)
2- Green leaves (parsley, rocket, mint etc.)
3- Strawberry jam
4- *Dut pekmezi* – mullberry syrup
5- *Menemen* – scrambled eggs with tomato, pepper and maybe onions
6- Skewered meat with *lavaş* bread (flat bread)
7- Apricot jam
8- Fried *sucuk* – spicy and fermented Turkish salami
9- Fresh cheese and olives
10- Butter
11- *Kaymak* – fresh cream
12- Fresh curd cheese with blackberry jam
13- Pink tomatoes with small pepper pickles
14- *Kuymak* – melted cheese with cornmeal
15- Feta cheese on dried figs
16- *Sahanda yumurta* -Eggs sunny side up
17- Honey
18- Bottomless Turkish black tea
This is a luxury breakfast to have in a restaurant and it’s not the whole thing yet. As you eat, more things like *böreks* and other pastries will come. Home breakfasts may contain many more items than this.
