According to the ISW, Russian forces likely are engaging in offensive operations in this area of the front in an effort to exploit Ukrainian operational focus on other sectors of the front and draw Ukrainian reserves away from critical areas of the theater, namely the Bakhmut and western Donetsk, and western Zaporizhzhia region areas, where Ukrainian forces are pursuing counteroffensive operations.
The experts noted that the poor quality and composition of Russian troops currently deployed on this line, however, will likely hinder Russia’s ability to achieve more than tactically significant gains or make an operationally significant breakthrough.
Are russia trying to repeat mistakes of Nazis during battle of The Bulge with their “wonder army?”
? I just don’t believe some of the sources telling russia hiding so strong force.. wich been just sitting fingers up their asses last few months doing nothing and looking russia losing kilometers of occupied land…
So yeah i strongly doubt that russian military froce is as strong some sources tell they are …
Anyway hope Ukraine puts stop to this shitshow fast. Слава Україні!
Those troops may be in need for a big, encouraging speech by their commander. Especially since they could be going up against cluster munitions
Apart from ISW being worth less and less in their analyses, I doubt UAF will have much luck the other way unless some serious force projection equipment arrives soon. Right now I wonder if Biden’s administration want Ukraine to defeat Russia at all, and not just let them hang in the noose forever.
This is a phantom army. It’s purpose is to force Ukraine to divert reserves from its summer offensive. There is no chance Russia will fully commit this force to offensive operations. They still need to regroup from the last 6 month of serial failure.
I hope they fail and I hope that Ukraine gets even more weapons.
Probably won’t, but they will throw away significant amounts of irreplaceable war material.
They need to be seen as pushing somewhere just so they can keep the copium flowing.
Of all the discussion about the is Russian offensive I’ve seen no one has discussed what is, in my view, the obvious. The northern front is a different command than the south. The way the Russians operate I doubt the commands have anything in common. This was common in WW2 for the Russians. The different Army fronts operated pretty much independent of each other and, usually, in competition.
As far as the Northern army is concerned anything happening in the south is not their problem and they sure as shit are not going to give them any of their men or supplies.
