Disclaimer: Rant.

I am astonished! I was on my way to the store today and look what I found from Emännänpuisto. Two broken tv screens. By the park road. I can’t believe how anyone in the world would think this is okay. Next teenagers or drunks are probably going to smash them to bits and then the million little pieces of plastic are part of the landscape probably forever.

I pick trash from the nearby parks from time to time because there’s so much of it. And frankly I’m quite sick of it. There are garbage disposals within 100 m wherever you go. Use them! I was taught as kid in school that littering is absolutely forbidden and what happens to nature due the negligence of people not taking care of their surroundings. I also thought it’s common sense as well. Apparently not.

When people are done with the thing they’re chewing on, the hand lets go of the wrapper and it goes wherever the wind blows. People who do these sorts of things are human waste and belong on a landfill. Where these two broken tv’s were supposed to go anyway. I’ve notified the Helsinki parks and rec department, but if you’re reading this and recognize that these screens belong to you, pick them up and dispose of them in an appropriate manner. Thank you!
