  1. there is an evolutionary theory that they do this to measure the density of the flock and then proceed to wether mate or not. again it’s a scientific theory based on observation.

  2. Man, birds are crazy. When they fly in groups, it’s almost as if they become a hivemind. But each of those black spots is a single individual bird, with its own life and history. All coming together to form one absolutely bonkers feat of evolution.

  3. As a kid I always saw these kind of birds doing this in the summer evening by my grandfather. I still remember we ran outside to spectate this. It is really mesmerizing!

  4. Lmao there’s one bird at the end going “Oh shit I’m in the wrong group” as he turns around.

  5. I love the contrast of the poetry of the birds flight in the sunset with the earthly problem of said birds shitting on your hair. It makes it even more poetic. Background violin to tie it all together, beautiful video.

  6. These are starlings, right? I’m getting ‘nam war flashbacks of my parents’ garden being assaulted by a flock like this because there were a few grape vines. It was like The Birds around our house damn yo.

  7. I don’t know why but there seems to be particularly many large starlings flocks near Liège.

Also these birds are noisy af, even at several hundred meters.
