Hi,

Does anyone know is it possible in Finland to store stem cells from baby’s cord blood? In many countries they offer this as an extra during birth. Donation to public is free while keeping it in private bank for yourself costs.
I know very little on this, but supposedly it’s much more successful to cure that child in case it gets leukemia, with it’s own stem cells.

I can’t find much detail in Finnish on this, except some [news](https://yle.fi/a/3-6686241) that Veripalvelu has stopped this in 2013, because of financial reasons.
