No doubt she probably had the skills required. But I don’t see who can believe it is a good idea to hire a foreigner at such a strategic position.
Is there really NOBODY out of the 400 M Europeans able to do the job ?
Do we really have to go and take someone who will always be considered as a US puppet by every euro skeptics ?
Since when an independent government or organisation is taking foreigners at such strategic position ? Leaders, people deciding. Not just advisors.
Can we imagine the US government hiring a European at a similar place ? Obviously not (at that is a good point for the US).
As a dane I’m disappointed in this. But I’m also wondering why this decision was made and why no one warned about the implications before. Maybe there is a really good reason for taking this risk/approach?
