  1. So just read that if you got J&J with omicron its effectively like getting no vaccine.. where is our prioritisation.

40 year olds getting a third shot while the younger ones amongst us are effectively at risk

  2. Got mine yesterday in the gps. It was an appointment but even so I was amazed at the speed, I was in and out in a max 45 seconds. No 15 min wait around, no queuing outside. Very impressed with the whole thing. Little tired last night from it but absolutely no side effects beyond a slightly sore arm today

  3. Had a look, we had 3.4m second doses administered by September 25th. So that’s the available pool now to get a booster factoring in the 90 day wait.

Were effectively half way through that available pool (probably higher considering the original 6 month wait for anyone who had Covid).

In theory the booster campaign at its current speed could be done by mid to late January (factoring in Christmas slow down, but if we hit 100k jabs a day over 10 days it lifts things) but with rising cases, it means we’ll possibly level out at like 3m or so doses because we’ll have a considerable amount of people who aren’t eligible to get a vaccine under the rules because of previous infection.

That’s some rough maths, but we should have a pretty robust immunity to severe infection nd hospitalisation in February, we’ll just be left with a lag of cases after the initial explosion. Either way, for every shit day of “8k new cases today” there’s 10x that getting a booster.

  4. Brilliant. We can all stay at home holding firm until its time for the next booster.

To the downvoters: do you honestly think Holohan and Co are going to allow things to open again anytime soon? we might get testfree travel, cinemas & 10pm hospitality by the summer if we’re lucky. Your 3rd booster will already be waning by that stage.

  5. Considering that it looks like boosters will be a thing for some time to come, they should probably look at recruiting more vaccinators so that GPs and pharmacists can return to their regular work.

  6. Spooners pharmacy in Templeouge is doing walk ins yesterday and today if anyone is in south Dublin and reads this. Open to all ages and cohorts.

  7. Reddit needs to introduce a “Ya Vaxxed” badge with which we could virtually vaccinate other users for laughs AND health awareness.
