He has one previous conviction for murder.. how was he allowed to move to Ireland?
> He has one previous conviction for murder from an Eastern European jurisdiction, dating back to 2001, for which he received a prison sentence. The gardaí were unable to confirm other details as the file had been destroyed, the court was told.
>The investigating garda agreed with Maurice Coffey SC, defending, that his client has no previous convictions of a sexual nature. He also accepted that the man moved to Ireland in 2012 and co-operated with this investigation.
>Mr Coffey told the court that his instructions were that a man was stabbed during the course of a dispute, and his client served ten years of a 13-year prison sentence
Murdered someone in 2001, got out in 2011, moved to Ireland in 2012 and was raping kids before the end of the year. Absolutely unbelievable. Terrifying to think who could be walking the streets.
17 years for rape after he already murdered someone
Rot in hell
I just keep seeing so many high-profile sex crimes cases in which the guilty person is not Irish, but from some other part of the EU. What is going on? (Aisling Murphy’s alleged murderer is also Slovakian btw)
In the 1990s, there were frequent news reports about british pedophiles targeting Ireland. They would be convicted in the UK and when they were released, they were known to the police, so they would come over to Ireland where they had no record, a clean slate and an unsuspecting public they could prey on.
Could this now be happening on a European scale? Sex criminals across Europe see Ireland as an easy touch…. not well policed…. easier to commit sex crimes and get away with it? Taking advantage of a lack of information sharing between countries.
We have unwillingly exported one of our own sex criminals to Europe already…. Larry Murphy.
(Note: Not attacking Slovakia in particular. I’ve been there. I have friends who are Slovakian. It’s a normal country… like Czech Rep or Poland for example)
I was hoping that the description would be “man sentenced to death for raping 7 year old child”
Can’t be named…
Fucker should be put down.
Dip this person slowly into hot oil and let rats feast on him.
Judge should be locked up too. Justice in Ireland is long gone.
Would the death penalty for crimes like this just lead to more murders of the victims? I can’t believe he’s only getting 17 years.
Truely disgusting. If not death it should be life sentence.actual life, like never getting out ever again
What a disgusting monster. Hopefully the lads in prison will have a nice welcome for him.
“Using his time in custody well”.???
Yeah, he’s not raping or murdering anyone; awful good of him.
Is the maximum possible sentence for rape not life imprisonment?

He refused to accept the jury verdict. No remorse

Why on earth is he only getting 10 for it?
