  1. So, this a typical starter/light meal. It consists of baked red pepper and aubergine, stripped and then chilled. You eat it cold. It’s put on a toast (different types of bread can be used, it’s normally put on a slice of sourdough bread). You can top it with olives and/or anchovies.

    Escalivada: Baked red pepper and aubergine
    Torrada: Toast
