This is an outrageous failure on Fine Gael’s end to be reneging on manifesto promises made.
Taxpayers getting absolutely ridden once again while they pretend that increasing the threshold is a “tax cut” when in reality it’s a stealth tax increase every year it is not indexed to salary inflation – the next election can’t come quick enough to get this shower out.

So tax bands can’t be increased in line with inflation but pension payments will be indexed with inflation. What an absolute fuck you to taxpayers and the young again.
Wish they stopped framing it as a tax cut when really all I have experienced over the past year has been a cut to my spending power.
They are woefully out of touch with the public and I can’t wait to vote them out. At this point SF have more to offer me and I am far from their target demographic for incomes.
Grand laugh when the COL issues don’t effect you or yours.
They are having a laugh on us working peasants…
Can I ask sincerely if the bands did raise in line with inflation what cost would that have to the government in terms of tax revenue lost.
Is it a robbing Peter to pay Pau scenario where some other service would suffer from cuts due to this post revenue. I thought the way to bring down Inflation is to squeeze the middle so discretionary spending is reduced.
Politicians renege on manifesto promises.
Jesus, never seen that happen before!
Nice bit of kite flying to see how much they can tilt the electorate then come in clinch with the steam off their piss in the budget just enough so they might fool people to vote for them.
I don’t mind not getting a tax cut but would like to get more for what I put into it.
