I saw this dude while driving in Agios Nikolaos, Lemesos. Classic.

I truly believe this needs to be fixed by the police, there is just no actual laws to either protect bikers (wearing helmets) or to actually care about others on the road (talking on the phone).

Small rant over.

  1. People like him deserve to land on their face.

    ^(μια φορά τζαι καλή)

  2. There are laws for helmets and phones.

It’s just that guy is….and I am saying this as nicely as possible….extra special.

  3. There is a distinction between the basic police and traffic police. In most cases this is an issue for traffic police. If this guy drives past a normal police, they won’t even blink. Not their job, they don’t care.

For example: There’s laws regarding e-scooters. On the main road near my house there are many people who drive up and down with them. On that road there’s a police station and many times police is going and out from the station and see them. They didn’t even turned their heads.

  4. Are you new in Cyprus? That’s how we roll here

  5. Natural selection. Unfortunately the fact that they don’t care to slam their head on the pavement it’s not only their problem, it’s very messy in case of an accident. I saw a few accidents so I know what I’m saying. Nothing fun about brain splattered all over. Just wear a fucking helmet.

  6. Well, of course he keeps his helmet by his elbow, how else is he gonna talk on the phone while driving? Silly OP…

It’s odd that he’s not doing a wheelie while carrying a friend on his bike without a helmet, like the kids in Larnaka… welcome 🇨🇾

  7. I think if people issued fines for violations while driving cars started to refuse to pay until the police also started enforcing the same behavior from motorbikes, then we’d see a rapid change in attitude from many motorcyclists.

More than once just this month I’ve seen motorbikes without license plates, the rider with no helmet, run past police checkpoints in Larnaca at well over 100kmh (in a 50 zone) and absolutely nothing happens.
