London authorities have been buying homeless people.one-way train tickets to the west-midlands for decades.
Reading is full of crack addicts for the same reason, they get given a one way ticket from greater London or somewhere and fucked off onto us because the local councils can’t/won’t deal with it. Probably due to lack of funding and resources. So Tories basically.
So many councils do this. One small connection to an area “here is a bus ticket”.
One of them saw that episode of South park and had a real light bulb moment.
And whom gets priority for housing? Obviously not the homeless is it.
They got caught, plenty of other councils do this but it goes under the radar.
The problem is not the distance – 10 miles is bugger all and thousands of people who can’t afford to live in Brighton will live that far away (and more) and commute in.
The problem is the lack of support/washing of hands of responsibility by the supposedly caring anti-capitalist green who run Brighton.
