Hello, I hope you are well, a friend of mine has recently moved to Switzerland, his bedroom does not have a central light fitting however there is a switch and the signs of a previous light fitting being installed on the surface, I am a qualified electrician in the UK however I’m unfamiliar with the wiring standards and colours in Switzerland, from the pictures he’s sent me of junction box on the ceiling near the switch an educated guess would be to attach the switched live to the red flying cable and the neutral to the black, earth isnt important as the fitting is class 2 and the supplying cable is 2 core.

Many thanks, Lewis

  1. Blue = Neutral

    Attention in old houses the Neutral is yellow!

    Means that Blue could be living conducter switched or contstant power

    Black or red = living conducter = switched or constant power

    Green-yellow = Earth

    Tension = 230 Volts

    Frequency = 50 Hertz

    Fuse = 10 amps usually can be 6 amps in a older house

    Be carefull with advise as on the pics we cant see how old the wiring is.
