About as sincere and heartfelt as heartburn and a kick in the teeth given his and his government’s record on LGBT treatment and rights.
The same useless Prime Minister and Tory government which has seen the trans community being used as a political shield to avoid harder discussions around cost of living, employment rights, immigration, education, COVID and what to do with political disenfranchisement and corruption (to name a few).
The actual damaging minority for this country are the 22 Cabinet Ministers, plus their followers including Tory MPs who support this nasty and divisive form of politics. Add the bigoted tabloid reporters and their lazily written articles to boot and you still have an actual nasty, damaging minority compared to the LGBTQ+ community.
Shoddy no-action-required headline grab from a PM presiding over a party that still hasn’t banned conversion “therapy” and has just sent unlawful guidance on the treatment of trans pupils to the AG’s office.
Same vibe as Alan Partridge’s ‘um, yeah, sorry’ to the farmers.
Its worth looking up the Canadian prime ministers apology to Canada about this same issue. It was heartfelt and beautiful
