I was gobsnacked when I went up North a few months ago and went into Tesco there. It’s not a little cheaper. It’s insanely so.
Before anyone decides to make the trip, your Irish club card won’t work up there.
Is the Northern shopping becoming a big thing again?
During the financial crisis, people were coming in busloads to do their grocery shopping in border towns.
As a student from the north at the time, I’d be tortured with people asking me to buy booze for them and bring it back down to Dublin when I went home. Right enough, spirits were about half price in comparison.
At one point, Asda in Strabane was raking in 2 million a week in sales
The price of Coca Cola has made me so healthy turned me into a pure Hydro Homie.
