They chose to ally with power that already disregarded their defensive pact. It will disregard it again. Because games with frenemy dictator are more important then actually honoring defensive pact with tiny Armenia. Of course he ask and hopes for peace, all it took was to take away the territories his country illegally occupied.
Then maybe they should stop occupying territories that are internationally recognized as Azerbaijan
