  1. It’s those pesky vegans! Or you know the sheer costs these days combined with people not having the money. No, it’s those vegans! I can’t wait for the red top reporting of this.

  2. Because I’m not Paying that much for that little lol

  3. Haven’t had a chippy in over a year; all our locals here charge extortionate prices, and it’s never as good as you’ll imagine it’ll be.

  4. A couple of reasons; they no longer use lard to fry the chips, vegetable oil makes them dry and doesn’t get as hot, so doesn’t cook them as well inside. Also, the price of a portion of chips has risen rapidly from 45p per portion in £1995 to 70p per portion by 2000, then a steady increase to £1 a portion in 2018 and now a giant leap to £3.40 today

  5. – Because it costs about a tenner or more for a decent sized fish and chips for each person
    – Because as I’ve gotten older, that much greasy food will make me feel awful for a day afterwards
    – Because the two ones local to me are cash only and I don’t ever have cash on me
    – Anything outside of the fish and chips is pretty grim

  6. Don’t need an article to explain that Fish and Chips are ridiculously expensive for something served in paper as a takeaway.

Piece of fried cod at my local chippy is £9.50. Fuck that, I’ll have a kebab instead.
