I’m torn on this. On the one hand I’d love to see beavers back in the country. On the other hand it seems a bit premature to devote resources to this when the wildlife we already have here, such as hedgehogs, are in terminal decline.
Fascinating animals as second to humans in habit change
Watch out, first you get beavers, next you get French fur traders turning up seasonally to trade furs for firearms, they marry your women, you catch diseases you have no immunity to and before you know it you’re Quebec.
