This law is unworkable and technically stupid. I hope it dies in a spectacular fashion.
Its almost as if politicians have no idea how technology works.
Why does the government think anyone wants this? I don’t understand the arrogance of thinking that the government deserves the right to hoover up all our data, even without our knowledge. They work for us, not the other way round!
This law is so perversive to the rights of a private citizen I refuse to believe it was designed that way accidentally.
Fuck this alt right government, and fuck suella braverman.
They do this periodically. I suspect it’s designed more to shore up party support via ‘we’re thinking of the children’ than a realistic proposition. It almost always gets shot down in flames because there’s way, way too much money and power in *not* monitoring. But it allows the Tories to inhabit a moral high ground, which ‘superficial’ voters like.
A hilariously misappropriated moral high ground, too, considering Suella Braverman is one of the most evil people I’ve ever seen in government.
Tories and Labour are working together on this –
They want to secure their next job working for the big tech spy apparatus at companies like facebook.
Tories know they will be out of a job soon. But why are labour doing it?
