  1. Gotta be a bow hunter

Damn this idiot. My bow counts legally like sports equipment as a tennis ketcher. I don’t want it to become restricted.

  2. *From staff and agencies in Oslo:*

    > Several people have been killed and others injured by a man who opened fire with a bow and arrows in a town in Norway, according to local police.

    > The suspect was apprehended after the attack late on Wednesday in the town of Kongsberg, 50 miles (80km) south-west of the capital, Oslo, a police spokesperson said.
    >
    > “The man has been apprehended … from the information we now have, this person carried out these actions alone,” the police chief, Øyvind Aas, told reporters. “Several people have been injured and several are dead.”
    >
    > He declined to comment on the number of casualties, but said there were “several crime scenes”.
    >
    > Local media reported a large emergency response operation in the city, involving armed police, two helicopters and more than 10 ambulances.
    >
    > Norway’s minister of justice and public security, Monica Maeland, has received updates on the attacks and was closely monitoring the situation, the ministry said.

  3. Horrible, that’s the issue with bows, they’re extremely silent weapons, people might not even realize what’s happening. Let’s hope the number of dead is lower than the 7 reported by some…

  4. Slightly ironic, a simple weapon used in the city where some pretty complex weapons are developed.

    So sorry for the families.

  5. Scary. Whenever I hear news like this, I get reminded how wicked people around me are. I just wish I could one day fully disconnect from the current matrix and live away from people.

  6. The broadcasted photos are of simple carbon arrows without hunting blades and an overweighted archer with a regular recurved bow and not the compound I imagined.

  7. As a fellow Scandinavian this saddens me deeply, my thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. This is horrible

  8. Hope that’s the end of that, takes a lot of planning and skill I guess… hope everyone survives who is injured…

There are some seriously fked up people.

  9. At least my friends and their families are fine. “Utøya igjen?!” was what I kept hearing from them.

Norway, with all the wealth. Why do these massacres happen?

  10. That’s scary. I never thought that bows were that dangerous. I assumed you could survive getting hit, like in the movies, but now that I think about it there’s no way unless you get hit in the limbs. I bet a hit to the chest or back would pierce organs and kill in moments… Hopefully it doesn’t cause some weird ideas. Not knowing people are dying around you because its silent is also scary a f.

  11. While happenings like these are extremely sad and pain us all, we must remember that the act in Kongsberg is the deadliest attack in Norway since Anders Behring Breivik killed 77 people in July 2011.

It’s not commonplace and most people in our society are good, loving people. Try to remember that fact in times like these.
