Interesting that Iceland uses *Strið*, which means *battle/fight* in the other Scandinavian languages. *Warship* in Swedish is *Örlogsfartyg*, which must be a loanword from Dutch?
I think the Russian word for war is “Special military operation”. Otherwise nice map.
I know the native English word for peace is either ‘frith’ or ‘grith’ – but what’s the native English word for war? I can find a couple for battle (‘gouth’ (like ‘loud’ not ‘couth’ from what I can tell)) and ‘bade’).
