  1. >The flood of people over the border following Russia’s February 2022 invasion should have been a boon for countries in the European Union’s east, where acute labour shortages have long dragged on economic growth and fuelled inflation.

But obstacles ranging from lack of childcare facilities to reluctance to recognise non-European academic and vocational qualifications has left vacancies unfilled and the – mostly female – new arrivals frustrated. Many are stuck in jobs below their skill and education levels and without the longer-term career prospects they are seeking.

  2. Probably because the ones who migrated were rich and are getting tones of aid.

  3. >40 years of failed mass economic migration

    crickets

    >2 years of ukrainian legitimate war refugees

    already calling them failures

  4. Ah yes, exploiting the shit out of desperate people, we do it in Poland with our ukranian brethren, terrible.

  5. The demographics of Ukraine will be f*cked after this war. They were already an ageing population but now a large section of young men have been killed or maimed and alot of younger women/children have fled to West and likely will never return.

  6. At least in germany the Problem is that to work most somewhat good Jobs you need a official Qualifikation (3year apprenticeship where you are in a business + school). To do that you most likely need to learn German first.

And in other countries language is probably the biggest Problem overall

  7. Cak all childcare so the majority women can’t work. Some qualifications not recognised and they can’t go home to get their documents. Here in UK us locals also can’t afford childcare and housing and every job needs various tickets, checks and loads of regulatory oversight.

  8. wow lads we’re struggling to exploit refugees, man we suck at this whole capitalism thingy.
