Look what EU is proposing. This is a shitshow. They want to take away our privacy. This is attack on our human rights.
In light of this and the FBI incident from a few years ago, I greatly respect Apple’s firm stance on this matter.
Good. Here, the UK government is taking a risk. They are also using a legitimate worry to scare people into thinking backdooring encryption is necessary when it isn’t, and they wouldn’t use it for the reasons they’re claiming either. They have no understanding (for a change). It must never be permitted to occur!
What is happening in the UK? It appears that they are attempting to drive every tech company out of the nation for the worst possible reasons.
I hate the word SLAMS so much.
That said, good on Apple for opposing the bill. Whenever there is a back door on anything, you can bet that bad actors will be able to use it at some point. It’s a massive security headache. Actual criminals would just switch over to something that doesn’t have back door.
What about France which now can remote access anyone’s devices and microphones/cameras.
Not keen on Europe right now, they have taken away freedoms through destroying the economy, and now they are taking away privacy.
Good. It’s time to combat governmental interference
Ever since the war on terror our privacy rights have seen a major decline. This is the next step before things to get worse.
The Home Office told the BBC that the Investigatory Powers Act was designed to “protect the public from criminals, child sex abusers and terrorists”.
