  2. When the war started many feared that the government would align itself with nationalistic right “patriots” who at first applauded the war. It never happened and now it’s obvious that Putin’s regime still hates any kind of self organization even if it is pro-government. Which is good news since the same inability to stomach social movements brought down the Tzar in 1917 when he and his ministers did not allow patriotic nobles and businessmen to organize and help Russian army in WWI.
