Interesting that UK GDP is up more vs some of Western Europe (France, Germany, Italy)
I initially thought it would be because Sterling did better than the Euro vs USD between 2019 and 2022, but actually both the pound and euro experienced almost the exact same fluctuations (with the exception of the brief Liz Truss collapse) over the period.
The Euro in 2019 was a roughly $1.10, and Sterling roughly $1.29. They’re both back to these figures (once again excepting the dips both experienced during the energy crisis in 2022).
