Was at a cocktail class with my partner last year in Dublin and after it you got to sit down and have a few drinks. We were sitting beside a group of 3 girls in the same class and just over hearing them talking about men they were with based on their assets and chances of getting a house with them. The commodification of the relationships were really sad to hear considering one girl had two men and was essentially picking between them based largely on going halvers on a mortgage.
People find money/social status/material possessions attractive in a mate.
Is the Guardian just now discovering this?
Being single just isnt affordable anymore unless you live in a flatshare with 5 other people.
Income and wealth are considered attractive in a life partner? What the hell?
