I was a childminder this time last year. There were a few reasons I quit; one large reason was the stress of having an eminent Ofsted inspection.
Ofsted have made jumping through hoops for small childminders virtually impossible
The government should bloody pay me for all the hours I’ve put in caring for other peoples SEN kids who are out of school so they can go to work. Mysteriousbowls special needs academy of trampolines and fortnite is saving my local authority a small fortune and they don’t even acknowledge me. All over the country I’m sure the same picture is being repeated. Parent with a WFH job ends up with everybody else’s kids at their house not actually being properly looked after but what the fuck else can we all do when we all need two incomes to keep our respective homes going?
