Some telling quotes there from the GRA towards the end of the article. If their spokesman feels comfortable to admit that they aren’t managing well and that parts of the city may not be safe for the gardai themselves… the minister telling us things aren’t so bad seems to ring a little hollow.
That poor man. He came here to try integrate and live among us, and this is what he got back in return. I’m absolutely sick to my stomach over this. Can’t stand these little fucking rat bastards anymore. Imagine this was your own father.
Dublin hasn’t been safe for a long long time , it’s unfortunate it’s taken this for it to be brought to everyone’s attention, I hope he gets better soon.
Fine Gael are NOT going to be happy about that. They’re going to go into PR overload with stuff like this being published.
Note that I didn’t say they would address the actual root of the issue, but the PR campaign is gonna be mighty.
>The son of the US citizen who was viciously assaulted in Dublin city centre this week says he is disappointed that his father had to be the ‘final straw’ for street violence to be taken seriously…..
I fear Mr Termini’s assualt will be no more a “final straw for street violence to be taken seriously” than the murder of
Urantsetseg Tserendorj or death of Thiago Cortes.
>Mr Termini, a metalworker from Buffalo, New York, had come to Ireland with the intention of moving here – which had been a long-held dream of his – and had opened a bank account on the morning of the assault.
This man took side-jobs and worked overtime to fund his dream of moving to Ireland. What happened to him is heartbreaking. This has been coming a long time due to the sheer incompetence of our government, in particular Helen McEntee, who has failed to address the serious anti-social behaviour in Dublin city centre. I sincerely hope we will see dramatic change in the next general election.
