I am thinking about starting a small software business. Working out of my bedroom, bootstrapped, minimal investment. Build an online software product and sell it via Stripe. Very hard to estimate yearly income (could be zero or a lot).

What exactly are you asking for? Relevant experience and guides for what exactly? If you want to sell software you need to register a business and file taxes.
