  1. Mmmm definitely should not be in work. Thats not a safe working environment. Id be straight onto the WRC

Edit: just tested positive for being a full time mad bastard (covid)

  2. Reminder that anyone can ring in sick and not tell their employer what ails them. Sick cert from GP may be required but so be it. Too much of this nonsense going on.

  3. Why are all these people having elaborate conversations with their boss? “I won’t be in tomorrow, I’m unwell”.

Obviously a massive gofuckyerself to the bosses, too.

  4. This sounds like bullshit.

If that’s your manager you’re dealing with, ask them to supply this regulation in writing. Preferably deal with is over email if you have that, WhatsApp might not be seen as an official avenue for your company.

You should be isolating and awaiting a PCR test, its not your fault there’s a delay on them.

  5. It’s a short conversation, I believe I have contracted something contiguous and I am awaiting further testing. I will not be able to attend work due to symptoms and/or current public health advice.

While an antigen test might be seen as less accurate than a PCR it is a fair indication and further investigation is required.

The Heath and Safety authority ( HSA) might be a good port of call on this one if you need to report people attending work with covid in the full knowledge of the employer. They might have something on their website about it.

With that attitude the company will be closed next week look at the airlines cancelling flights due to lack of staff.

  6. GM here

Just tell them you’re unfit to work. All they need to know for now.

If there are potential close contacts, make sure you name them after positive PCR which you should book immediately.

Looks like both sides are making much bigger drama out of it than there needs to be.

  7. I’ve never understood people saying “I’m being made to go in”

Are you being kidnapped or your family held hostage?

“I’m sick, won’t be in tomorrow. I’ll let you know about the subsequent days when I know more”

And that’s it. Your company can’t do fuck all. End of story. Should they attempt to discipline you for it (they won’t) don’t accept it. It’s not a just cause for dismissal.

  8. The retail outlet my daughter works for is very strict on implementing HSE guidelines. Several shops closed running up to Christmas as a result of staff out. A postive antigen test means they are out and must get a pcr to confirm.

  9. “Thanks for your message. I have just contacted the WRC and the HSE on the matter. In the meantime, it would be most appreciated if you can confirm that this is company policy from your company email address.”

  10. My place asked me to send them a HSE close contact text, my dad literally filled out the form and they never sent me a text, what am I supposed to do lmao
