I\`m a bit confused with the requirements specially about the Rentenversicherung . Do you need to pay for it continuously for 5 Years? My visa is IT Specialist and been working in Germany for 3y and 4 Months together with my wife as family reunion visa. Well, i´ll tell you my shortlong story. Our first company got bankrupted. So I only worked there for 1 year and 2 months. Luckily, a better company hired me. You guessed right. AFTER 8 fr\*\*\*ing Months, It was approved just to change Job. I love you ausländerbehörde. Wondering how we paid our rent? Well my savings and with help of my wife working for mini job. Yes. 450€ for that 8 Months of nightmare. I did not apply for Arbeitslosengeld. However, those days are over and we are both happy with our situation.

Back to topic, we wanted to stay in Germany for the rest of our lives.

As per requirements for PR:

\*You have held a (temporary) residence permit for 5 years.
\-been living in Germany for 3 Years and 4 Months. So do I need to wait for less than 2 Years?

\*You have adequate knowledge of German (corresponding to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages),
\-Currently A2. or I should say in between A2 and B1. A2.2, I guess.

\*You have paid contributions to a pension insurance scheme for at least 60 months (this condition may also be met by a spouse),
\-Does that 14 months in my first company still counts? considering I was jobless in that 8 months after my first job?
