Considering the zones only effect is financial how do they plan to mitigate the financial impact?
The ‘financial impact’ is the entire point of the ULEZ expansion. ULEZ is being expanded to raise money for TFL, as a condition of the bailout they got. It’s primarily a money making scheme, so mitigating the ‘financial impact’ defeats the point of it.
But we’ve been told the ULEZ is all to do with reducing emissions and improving air quality.
I do find that most people don’t fully understand LEZ / ULEZ and how broad it is. Some 2002 hatchbacks are allowed in the scheme and don’t need updating.
There’s this image that you need a EV to comply, when in reality there’s a lot of old cars that are perfectly valid
“Look at” is simply politician speak for not looking at.
