The first image is san pablo and the image arent all from the same places
So what do you mean by INCOMPLETE?
Nowadays Valladolid is a mid sized city (298K) in the spanish northern plateau. It acts as the capital of Castille and leon (out of pure compromise). It’s regionally important, but overall It’s pretty unremarkable at a National level, let alone a European one.
…BUT It could very well have been the capital and biggest city of Spain.
When Philip II made Madrid the permanent capital in 1561… The city wasn’t particularly big or important. It was just one of many which got to temporarily host the then itinerant court. Others had that same priviledge and Toledo and Valladolid were the preferred ones.
AKA In the 16th century Valladolid was a big deal and had a very good chance to become the permanent capital of Europe’s most powerful kingdom…but It didn’t. And when you go to Valladolid you see that.
The Cathedral of Valladolid is a good metaphor for the city. It was meant to be one of Europe’s largest churches at over 8.000m² built in the latest fashion (Herrerian style)…but in the end…only 45% of it was built 😅. The Cathedral IS nicknamed **the incomplete**. Money run out. Valladolid lost the race.
…well Except for that time a counselor moved the capital there for 5 years as a real state fraud (story for another time 😅)
