Please stay safe, especially if you are in the level 3 zone. There has already been a violent downburst with winds over 200km/h in Switzerland.

If you are in the level 3 area, avoid outdoor activities. Avoid long trips and make sure to check the weather before any journey.

Risks include very severe winds (200km/h downburst earlier today in Switzerland), very large hail (5cm +), flash flooding and isolated tornado activity.

  2. As a person with the hobby of being a storm chaser.
Almost 2 PM. I am becoming very skeptical of this alert.
Only fun is happening in the western Alps.

Heat dome above central europe will not let anything through that easily.
I wish to be wrong though. It is very dry.

  3. While it’s awful in the level 3 zone, can you give us a little bit of that rain? Because I wouldn’t mind at this point if it was going to rain for 3 days.

  4. Well I am in zone 3, nice! At the moment is just a little cloudy.

  5. Isn’t intense summer lightning just normal for the level 3 zone?

I’ve been in it, in Rijeka – dramatic as hell but nothing like the catastrophe of the heatwave further south right now.

  6. Seems to have started here, but I’m in the north. Bit of rain, wind, thunder.

As the saying goes: It’s only a storm when the sheep lose their curls.

  7. Simmilar storms have been happening every other day for the past two weeks tho
