German Centre for East European and International Studies [recently polled](https://cdniq.us1.myspdn.com/atsdpid1d6u5cmy4j61kro6gh/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/ZOiS_Report_2_2023.pdf) Russian emigrees to Georgia and Armenia. In Georgia 67% said that Russia was primarily responsible for the war, and only 5% said that Ukraine was primarly responsible. In Armenia 76% Russians put the blame on Russia and only 0.5% on Ukraine. Not only that, but overwhelming majority of people polled support same-sex marriage, which is very different from views of general populations of Russia, Armenia and Georgia. That’s emigrees — not tourists, the tourists is a different breed obviously.

So while _some_ emigrees are indeed Putin-supporters, the vast majority of people fleeing are far from his fans, and just younger, progressively minded Russians from big cities. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to flee Russia if you love Putin anyway — forced mobilization is long time over.
