And where did that information come from? A few days ago, a fire broke out again at a hazardous waste landfill, which was not controlled or properly secured in any way. Due to the fact that POLES and POLISH COMPANIES have been importing a lot of garbage from GERMANY over the past few years, the Polish government decided that this is the perfect opportunity to stir up more anti-German sentiments and hit the previous government that was in power in 2008-2015 (yes, 8 years ago).

What else could be seen on the government news station in recent days? E.g. “PLATFORM AGREED TO GERMAN RUBBISH”(Platform – Civic Platform, main opposition party, the meaning is that they agreed for receiving whatever waste from Germany).

What are the facts:
– indeed, a lot of waste, including a lot of hazardous waste, was transported to Poland over the last dozen or so years, very often from Germany, and permits were issued for their storage (if it was a legal landfill),
– Polish companies did it and they are responsible for poor protection and storage,
– it is true that a few years ago the law on importing this garbage was tightened,
– for several years, in the spring and summer, Poland has been affected by landfill fires, including hazardous ones,
– but no government, neither previous nor current, has solved the issue of existing landfills,
– the current PiS government is trying to put all the blame on Donald Tusk’s government, as if he himself inspired the whole action of bringing “German” garbage to Poland,
– the current government is doing nothing to solve this, despite the fact that every year more dangerous places with a risk of fire are reported,
– the current fire, which has already been extinguished, concerned a landfill that was approved by the “local governor” from the Tusk party in 2012, the city and environmental inspectorates issued fines and called for garbage disposal after 2014, the case was taken over by the prosecutor’s office and in 2015 the supreme administrative court called for the removal of waste, but the city said that there was no money for disposal.
Can we also report Russian garbage?
*calls the cops on the local Konfederacja office*
At first I thought they were referring to German people and was like WTF?!
Just to say it, while we hate your government, we all here in Germany love Poland and its people. Even though those trying to divide us claim otherwise.
Good to see theres more and more people standing up to blatant propaganda.
Jebac PiS.
I quite enjoy TVP World and share Rock Rachon a lot, the bloke is great.
But I see what I see also in Hungary. Blame someone else for ones failures and mistakes. In Hungary we blame Slovakia and Romania (only idiots believe them but…. they vote Fidesz) in Poland you seem to be blaming Germans.
