It would be funnier if he ended up being mistaken for a representative and spent several months voting on laws and being part of committees.
You can say that it’s unrealistic that he’d remain drunk for months, but he’s Irish and the Romanian parliament is stashed with drugs and and alcohol.
Reminds me of a joke:
“2 robbers walk into the parliament. They sit down and say: “Sorry we’re late!””
