Well it all relies on the aim. Is the aim to defeat the virus and exstinguish it? Then UK failed badly and forced everyone else to fail with inconsistent policies.
Is the aim to mutate the virus to a less deadly strain? Then mission accomplished. 140 daily deaths with 140k daily cases. ICUs are fine, there is no Reason to lockdown with such a weak virus strain if you don’t want to eradicate it.
Boris just wants to party legally.
In other words restrictions imposed on January the 1st.
