  1. Should be a no brainer to permit food export. We can support our European farmers economically as compensation

  2. What about EU countries enforce a corridor in the Black Sea trough EU member waters.

  3. Why can’t the grain be moved through EU countries and not be factored into their economies. Just use the transport without including it in any EU economy at all. Just passing through guys! Thanks?

  4. Just give them the long range missiles they need to secure their own country

  5. The title is not entirely correct, Janusz Wojciechowski, European Commissioner for Agriculture is still working on a proposal to compensate countries for transporting Ukrainian grain.

Sidenote: Janusz is a member of the Polish PiS party, the same party that wants to continue to ban Ukrainian grain.

The optimist in me thinks: great, this will get food to the hungry, get money to Ukraine and all it requires is giving the Poles some money.

The cynic in me thinks: Great, another show of populist PiS politicians using every crisis to get more EU money over the backs of Ukrainians.

I guess i should listen to the optimist in me 🙂

  6. Ahh, the „free market“ which our western culture is build upon!

  7. They should use the frozen Russian assets and money to cover the cost of any grain lost due to their bombing . Anytime they destroy civilian infrastructure same logic applies . Maybe then Russia can start to think – maybe
