What’s the most common language is use? Like say you wanna pop over to the convenience store around the corner, are you expected to start the conversation in Maltese, English or Italian?

I was pleasantly surprised by a winter week I spent in Malta a few years ago. Really had a nice time. History there is fascinating. Shame it just takes so long to get around the roads. Must be manic at the height of summer.
The politics aside (and the strange desire to shoot all the birds) Malta is fascinating. Found people to be very friendly, the architecture occasionally jaw dropping, and the generally barren dramatic landscape sort of enchanting. Also, the Siege Bell Memorial is one of the world’s great war memorials.
