Real mean earnings for for employees living in London have increased by 5% since February 2020, compared with a national increase of 2.7%.
How much of the 5 percent is because CEO of Exploitaron has had a £2 million increase on his salary, and how much is because normal workers have seen an increase?
Inequality is the biggest issue in the Uk (other than perhaps lack of productivity growth, but they are linked).
There are no easy fixes and it’s going to take much of the next generation of actually focusing on this (rather than more “media friendly” issues) to fix. We need not only a Labour Party that works on inequality as a no 1 issue, but to push the political consensus so even when governments change there is a focus on it from the opposition.
