  1. I made a post about her last year and the amount of negative hate on it was fairly astounding.

Morrissey is correct. People are fake, bandwagon chin waggers.

  2. This is so painfully obvious, it’s banal to even mention it.

  3. Spot on there, had the same thought this morning when reading the outpouring of adoration and respect for her.

  4. I hate that scum egg Morrissey but he’s not wrong here

Before her death if you shared something about Sinead on this sub it was going to be controversial at best

More personally there are people I’ve known for decades who in all the time I’ve known them never expressed any particular admiration for her or fondness for her music who are now making big soppy Facebook posts about how they’ve lost their hero

I think the majority of tributes are genuine enough but the ones I know for sure are clout grabs really sicken me

  5. I do think there was a good deal of dislike for her back in the 90s but I haven’t picked that up for a long time now, quite the opposite. I found that most people had a lot of understanding and compassion for what she went through, as well as an appreciation for her sheet talent.

Was there hate for her online? Of course, but there is hate for everyone online.

  6. Was she ever unpopular in Ireland? (Or, for that matter, the UK?)

It was clear that she was unpopular in *America* for her views, but that’s not really the same thing.

  7. He ain’t wrong here. Listening to the fuckwits on the virgin media morning programme talk about her there was real reach for a bucket stuff.

  8. Slightly unrelated but I have a genuine question, if anybody could help me out.

According to her Wiki page; “She consistently spoke out on issues related to child abuse, human rights, anti-racism, organised religion, and women’s rights.”

If this is the case then why did she devote her later years to religion, and of all religions, Islam?
