Paul Marsh jailed for killing Jessica Dalgleish after she refused to eat lunch

    Yet a guy being violent and lighting cardboard near a police car at a protest gets 14yrs.

    These sentences seem to be a bit fucked.

    Given how relatively unusual consecutive sentencing is, especially with “long” sentences – is this indicative of an issue with the sentencing guidelines that the judge felt justice couldn’t be serviced concurrently?

    It would seem to imply that the judge is implying being convicted of manslaughter somehow doesn’t meet the totality requirements which, for a single offence, seems insane.
