>A man who killed his girlfriend’s three-year-old disabled daughter after she refused to eat her lunch has been jailed for 11 years.
Yet a guy being violent and lighting cardboard near a police car at a protest gets 14yrs.
These sentences seem to be a bit fucked.
11 years? Starting to think the British justice system sees the lives of children as a burden.
> Marsh was sentenced to nine years in jail for manslaughter and a further two years for child cruelty, to run consecutively.
Given how relatively unusual consecutive sentencing is, especially with “long” sentences – is this indicative of an issue with the sentencing guidelines that the judge felt justice couldn’t be serviced concurrently?
It would seem to imply that the judge is implying being convicted of manslaughter somehow doesn’t meet the totality requirements which, for a single offence, seems insane.
Fuck sake you get less time for killing a fucking child than failing to set some coppers on fire.
Seems to be a lot of parents killing their children over the last couple of years doesn’t there
Wait, 11 years for killing a child by throwing her? deliberately… in a fit of rage…
