Pathetic judges
>The FIE has not said why Kharlan was disqualified. Ukraine’s fencing federation president said he asked an FIE official for an explanation and was not given one.
It will be interesting to see how this develops. Does FIE offend Russia or the rest of the world?
Unfortunately, the judges only followed the fencing rules. The rules say that you have to shake hands after a match.
It is rather questionable why Russian athletes are allowed to participate in international competitions at all.
Good, stop bringing politics into everything. This sports event has nothing to do with Russias war with Ukraine. It’s about sport.
Good, deserved.
Politics don’t belong into sports. Pretty sure her opponent wasn’t running around with AK shooting people and then went to a fencing tournament.
There are countries which are responsible for countless deaths way above the count of the Ukrainian war and nobody is denying handshakes.
Lol @ kids with “politics don’t belong in sports”
Wow there are still sports institutions that value sports instead of politics?
Nothing to wonder, FIE fencing is basicly owned by russian oligarkh Alisher Usmanov. Despite him “standing aside” in 2022 as FIE president, he is still in position.
