Why is there so much Uninhabited Land in Spain, Greece, and North Macedonia?

  1. Because there are zones where the conditions are either desert or there are zero opportunities for people, therefore no reason to live there

  2. The Alps, Scottish Highland, Norway, and Iceland are self-explanatory. But you would expect the population distribution in Spain and Greece to look more like it does in Italy and Portugal.

  3. Geographical reasons : mountains or high arid hills, bad land for agriculture, deserts.

    This historically means less people living there, less people needed there, which means people are more likely to migrate to other areas.

  4. This makes it look like Ireland has a higher population than Spain.

  5. Around 80% of our country is mountainous so people mostly stick to the valleys.

    One of the most mountainous countries in Europe, with a lot of rural areas without opportunities and some cities monopolizing the companies.

  7. look at the Alps, the Apennines in Italy and Scotland’s highlands. Same reason.

  8. Short answer: Those uninhibited areas are pretty much deserts.
