Earlier: Ukrainian fencer Olha Kharlan was disqualified from the World Fencing Championships in Milan after showing “lack of respect” for her Russian opponent.
At the start of the tournament, Kharlan defeated the Russian athlete Anna Smirnova and refused to shake hands after their duel.
Heros!
The World Cup of Fencing comes out looking like absolute clowns. To even let this goon compete as they pose with soldiers who are as we speak invading, murdering, torturing, and raping Ukrainians is insane. Then to watch the Ukrainian competitor mop the floor with the Russian, just to ban them for not showing respect is insane. Be glad she didn’t pop her in the mouth when the mask came off.
Only good action. F any Russian!
Can’t Italy expell the ruzzian for being lying to get the Visa?
Hope she left her mask on too.
Should make a rule where you can spit on the Russians instead when they stretch out their hand
I stand with her.
Not in this century at least. Good for the Ukrainians. Never shake hands with someone who’s country denies you even exist as a people.
You don’t shake hands with someone who is actively killing your family. Seems like common sense.
