Hi! Norwegians of Reddit, I also visited your beautiful country in November of 2017 when this was the currency, do these notes still float around / show up in change? Thank you for any info!

Now OP gotta wait for that one person who have actually seen cash since 2017.
None of these are still in everyday circulation. They can be exchanged at Norges Bank until 2028-2030 depending on which of the above mentioned bank notes you’re referring to.
Here’s a list of all valid coins and bank notes in circulation per 2023: https://www.norges-bank.no/tema/Sedler-og-mynter/gyldige-sedler-mynter/
All of these are expired and can’t be used in shops anymore.
All of these are outdated by now. Some small shops/stalls might accept them because they dont know better, but that would be borderline fraud.
For those who have these old notes they can be changed into new ones at den norske bank(or something similiar, NOT dnb) for a fee of 200. So changing an old 50 note would be a loss 😛
No, they have been shredded.
I’ll ask my local drug dealer tomorrow!
None of them are valid anymore, but you can exchange them in a bank.
Cash isnt really much around anymore unfortunatly
I want these back, I knew about the new design since around 2012 and was lamenting for the change
The new design by Snedig IS nice and all but I still prefer the old design and also my sister commented the new ones looks like Monopoly money 😂
Old ones were better, the new ones suck
No idea, Haven’t used cash since 2004.
None are valid
I remember these, but I don’t know if they are still in use, or if we have got new cash since then. Haven’t seen cash in ages.
