I read this title without the word “fish” at first, and was very shocked to find out the most dangerous job in 2023 was salmon farming.
Isn’t that the point of farms? Animals die and we eat them.
The salmon farms feed the salmon with other fish, so every 1kg of farmed salmon came from 2.5kg of other fish being fed to them.
The worst though is the pesticides they use to try and get rid of the sea lice and also the gigantic amounts of shit in a very concentrated area the salmons produce.
Lastly, salmon farms attract predators like seals, which the salmon farmers then kill. I’d rather have the seals than the farm thanks.
