Looking for a good jacket that that doesn’t have to look stylish around 150 euro. I’m 1,82m and I’m a medium/large. Usually large due to length.

My main criteria:

* Something breathable or with layers so it’s suitable for walking/hiking. My main annoyance when walking is having to open my jacket entirely because of sweat/heat.
* Rain resistant/proof would be nice.

[This](https://www.jack-wolfskin.be/pouring-rain-3in1-men/5008154_4144_004.html) seems like what I’m looking for but I have no clue on how to judge a jacket. I’m asking it here since I feel like our weather isn’t that common across the world.

  1. Go to an outdoors store and give them your criteria and budget. Going above your budget would allow you to have what you want but less heavy.

Rain resistant and rain proof comes in gradations. Your budget is unrealistic for rain resistant for a full day though. I have a nice jacket twice your budget and it’s only rain proof for about half a day. For me that’s good enough since if I know in advance it’s going to rain, I’m not going for that hike.

  2. Just a hoodie, or a thin rain jacket of it’s a rainy day, for a walk a shell for decathlon.
Pre COVID a leather jacket. 😆

  3. My faculty’s, same as in the summer. If it’s really cold, with a hat and a scarf.

Been a while since it’s been cold enough to justify an actual cold weather jacket.

  4. I like to layer. I’ve used a sprayway goretex upper for many years and depending on weather I add a long sleeve shirt, then fleece sweather, then cotton hoodie.

Since the goretex has deteriorated over the years, I’ve upgraded the upper to a Westin W6 rainsuit (jacket and pants), it’s a brand for fishers, made out of toray-delfy which has 10000mm waterproofing and 10000g/m² breathability.
